About PNGtoICO
PNGtoICO does one job: it turns PNG images into proper multi-size ICO files.
It has been online since 2014 and is part of the ConvertICO family of free image tools.
What the tool does
Every conversion produces one .ico file with nine sizes, from 16 to 256 px. Each size is resampled separately from a 256 px master, and transparency is kept.
You can convert up to 50 PNG files at once, paste a link to a PNG instead of uploading, and download everything as one ZIP.
Who it's for
Most visitors need an icon for something specific: a website favicon, a Windows program, an installer or a custom folder. Our guides cover those cases step by step, including Electron, PyInstaller, Visual Studio and Inno Setup.
If you need more control, such as choosing exact sizes or using presets, ConvertICO's PNG to ICO converter offers those options.
How your files are handled
Your PNG and the ICO made from it are stored only so you can download the result. The original PNG can't be opened by anyone after upload, and both files are deleted automatically within one hour.
We don't keep, share or look at your images. Details are in the privacy policy.
Free, and how it stays free
There is no signup, no watermark and no paid tier. The site is supported by ads.
